Lincoln Conservation Group:

Chambers Farm Wood, part 2, 26th October 2008

This task replaced the advertised New Park Wood Task that was cancelled due to forester activity.  We decided to return to Chambers Farm Wood to complete the hedge laying and pond digging started in early October.  Ten of us turned out for a gloriously sunny day.

The pond was holding some water, but more clay was dug out and puddled into the upper parts to hopefully make it hold more water.

The partly completed hedge laying was progressed and completed, including bindings cut from the nearby woodland.  It looked almost professional by the end of the day.

Some of us even managed to plant 136 devil's bit scabious plants in the nearby wildflower meadow.  All in all, another enjoyable days conservation work.
